About the coffee:
This communal lot from producers near Santa Maria and Pitalito is truly a great example of what high-quality group lots can be. Named after the towering Nevado del Huila, Colombia’s highest volcano, elevations in the region can reach a staggering 5,500 meters above sea level.

What we really love about this particular lot is the intense selection that happens before the lot is finalized. It results in the very best quality. A combination of Caturra, Colombia and Castillo makes for a versatile coffee, good for espresso, drip, and cold brew.

Up front it leads with a malic acidity that reminds us of red apple. The rich sweetness feels syrupy like molasses and the dark chocolate undertone balances everything nicely.

It’s a well-balanced, everyday drinker that works well in a variety of settings.
