About the coffee:
We first met Tamiru Tadesse in Houston at the Specialty Coffee Expo. What was initially a short conversation in passing eventually turned into a coffee partnership. Tamiru produces some of the finest Ethiopian coffees you’ll ever taste. In 2021, one of his first years of producing coffee at his home village of Alo in Bensa, he won 1st Place in Ethiopia’s Cup of Excellence. We’re proud to offer multiple lots from Tamiru this year!
We’ve featured many washed coffees from the Yirgacheffe, but this is one of the first washed coffees we’ve had from Sidama. This washed lot is so crisp and clean. Up front, there’s notes of yuzu and peach acidity, followed by orange blossom florals and a bit of kumquat, although subtle. It’s a delicate coffee that offers insight into the terroir of the Sidama, and specifically Bensa.
