About the coffee:
We first met Tamiru Tadesse in Houston at the World of Coffee expo. What was initially a short conversion in passing eventually turned into a growing partnership. He produces some of the finest Ethiopian coffees you’ll ever taste.
In 2021, one of his first years of producing coffee at his home village of Alo in Bensa, he won 1st Place in Ethiopia’s Cup of Excellence.
This ALO coffee is the work of Tamiru Tadesse alongside a group of smallholder farmers from the Feficho area. At around 2400masl, the altitude helps produce very dense cherries.
The ripest cherries are picked, immediately stripped and washed to promote a very clean profile. This lot is intensely fruit forward, juicy and lightly floral. The blackberry is soft and the peach, orange, and elderflower accompany it as the cup cools.
