What we're tasting:
A fruit cocktail that begins with raspberry acidity and fades into a velvety stone fruit sweetness.
About the coffee:
Grown by all women producers, this particular lot stood out above everything we tasted from Congo this year. While the country is still a bit of an emerging origin for high quality specialty coffee, you wouldn't guess that when tasting coffees from Mapendo. The bright, fruit-forward profile is marked with familiar tones we often find in African coffees. Mouth watering and juicy, yet clean, rounded and balanced.
