About the coffee:
We first met Tamiru Tadesse in Houston at the World of Coffee expo. What was initially a short conversion in passing eventually turned into a growing partnership. He produces some of the finest Ethiopian coffees you’ll ever taste.
In 2021, one of his first years of producing coffee at his home village of Alo in Bensa, he won 1st Place in Ethiopia’s Cup of Excellence.
Our approval criteria to bring in anaerobic natural process coffees is high. Many of them are too funky/fermenty for our preference. ALO and other super specialty groups in Ethiopia are doing an increasingly better job at nailing these coffees, and this one’s no exception.
It’s intensely juicy with purple fruits and bright acidity. There’s a lively acidity when the cup’s hot and the fruit juices evolve as the cup cools. A very clean, well processed natural.
